Wow.. I went to dog training today, to practice on my own.. and it was very windy going there. After the hour was up, I looked outside and there was a major snow storm. Driving home took me an hour, to go eight miles, and I got lost on the way! The visibility was so poor I ended up going too far East. I was laughing, it was pretty funny. The dogs seemed to be wondering where we were going, too.

We got about 2 inches in one hour. And it’s still coming down. We will probably keep getting 2 inches an hour for about three or four more hours. Fun! I like the snow. Though I am ready for some spring weather and to get out with the dogs.

Wow, so it’s 2008. 2007 sure went by fast. I went to bed at 11pm last night. Should have gone sooner but was working on the VPS. Woke up around 7:30. The dogs don’t like to sleep later than that, and I really am not able to sleep past about that anymore. Though I think after I retire my schedule will go later, I’ll start staying up later again and getting up later. I do love my 9 hours of sleep a night.

Anyway, it’s 9.5 degrees outside. Going to meet a friend from flyball at the dog park at 10am. Will be fun. I love Tanner park. Then gonna work on the VPS more while the dogs sleep from being warn out at the park.

Oh yes, I love it when the weather cools off! What do you love about the autumn?

I love about the fall…

• when I can have hot air blow on me. I swear I get lots of endorphins going or something. I can sit in my car, or in front of a space heater (like I am now) and just revel in the hot air blowing on me.
• when I can put on my comfy sweats and cozy sweaters.
• when the TV show season start!
• when the leaves turn colors and the flowers are still blooming.
• when I can sleep under heavy blankets and feel the dogs next to me, and snuggle in.
• when the nights are long! I love long dark nights.

It’s today. Happy first day of summer. Today is the Summer Solstice. Again, Wikipedia has a good page about the Solstices and Equinoxes.

I love the summer. I hate being cold. I do like the long dark nights of the winter, but this is summer, and I’m enjoying the long bright days. It’s been hot here, upper 90s, even up into the 100s, but I don’t mind. The dogs don’t like it very much, but I like the heat. I’m a hot weather woman. I love to get out of the shower and not dry my hair, just let it dry in the heat of the summer. And I love living in the desert. Dry heat is so much better than humid!

This morning in Salt Lake City, Utah, it is 23 degrees.  Brrrr. I don’t like the cold. I like the long dark nights. I like the rain and clouds and snow (snow only through December), but I do not like the cold.

I must eat better. I’ve been eating too much, more than my body needs, and not healthy foods.   Yesterday at our work Halloween potluck I did fairly well until someone unveiled the chocolate cake.  Fortunately I was already mostly full of carrots and cauliflower and broccoli.  But I had a small peice.  My weight didn’t go up today though, I wasn’t hungry for dinner and so didn’t eat much last night.

I have such troubles at night. I want to eat, find it comforting, even when I’m not hungry. I should knit instead. It keeps my fingers occupied and then I don’t put on he excess weight.  I’m only at 153 right now, and want to get back down to 148. I was quite happy there.
