I have a weight loss goal… that is the Cruise I’m taking in October! I am so excited! My friend from work and his sister and I are all going to share a cabin. If you stuff three people in a cabin it’s cheaper for the third person, less than half the price, so we are going to split the total cost three ways.

Anyway, lacking tool storage in my house or on the ship is not going to be a problem.. because we won’t need any! But really… I want to drop at least 8 more pounds. I now weigh 153. My high was 170 a couple of years ago. And at 5′7″ that is just too heavy. My low, when I dropped 20 pounds a couple years ago, was 147. I would love to get back down to 147 or less. My goal is, then, 145. I was about 135 in High School, and that would be ideal but I don’t know if I could maintain it.

We’ll see if I can do it. It’s going pretty well. I just need a structure to follow, which I have with Weight Watchers, and a goal, which I have with the cruise!

I’m sitting here eating my oatmeal, which is only a point for a half cup… and I like oatmeal!

Woo hoo Friday is here. I love Friday’s. I’m wearing blue jeans today.. I know I know, I shouldn’t, but usually I wear black jeans and mine were downstairs in huge clean clothes pile and so I threw on the blue jeans instead.

I think it’s going to snow this weekend. Again. And be cold. Well, I’m not minding it yet. I am going to Los Angeles on the 31st, going to the Clicker Expo. I’m excited. Will be fun, and warm there! And then I’m going (hopefully) to Las Vegas Mach 1 and 2 for a flyball seminar.

This weekend, I’ll be doing dog training Saturday, going to help my Dad move furniture on Sunday, then more dog training on Monday. Will be a good weekend. And today is Day 3 and I’m feeling pretty good today!

I love to travel.. and as I have posted before, but nearly enough about yet, I’m going on a cruise in October. I so do love to travel! I often travel to Chicago.. as I was born there. And my Mom and Dad have friend there. But sometimes I think I want to go with a tour company, because maybe I can see a bunch of things that I have never seen before. And if I did, I’d like to go with Trusted Tours & Attractions!

I remember once when I was in Chicago we went into a restaurant, and I was just stunned by seeing all the different types of alcohol on display. At the time, here in Utah, there were laws against displaying bottles of Vodka or any hard liquor in a restaruant or bar. And it was such a shocker to see so much on display! Heck, here in Utah, at one point, you couldn’t even put a named beer sign in the window. Geesh.

So anyway these guys, Trusted Tours & Attractions, are even having a contest to win a handheld GPS if you sign up for their newsletter. Man, I would love to have one of those fancy new GPS’s. Mine is a bit old now, black and white screen, and the screen is so small you can’t really see it well. A nice new color one would be excellent!

So next time I go on sightseeing tours I want to do it in Chicago!

Well, it’s looking pretty good about going on a cruise. I’m excited. I also found everything I need to renew my passport. I have two old ones, and I have to send in the most recent one. It was issued less than 15 years ago (I got it in 1994) and so I’m good for the mail in renewal. I also found our Marriage License and Certificate, I will have to include those as well. Oh yeah, I was going to look at the turn around time with passports, as I’ve heard the horror stories of how long they are taking now. Hopefully mine won’t take 10 months to get!

We are looking at a Carnival Cruise that goes to Grand Cayman and Belize City, among other things. I want to go scuba diving. I’ll have to get my scuba certification renewed as well, because the last time I went was back in 1998. I wouldn’t feel comfortable going unless I got re-certified. I think it’s just a short lesson and I can go to Sea Base for it, it’s considered an open water dive.

I am quite excited. I’ve invited some people, too. We’ll have to know who is going to come, for sure, soon. I want to get a good price on the cruise. And, I get the bug to do something like this and I like to plan early! I wonder if the ship will have wireless internet. I would absolutely love to blog from the ship! I’ll have to check it out. Here at home our wireless network is working well, and so is our used cisco we bought a year or so ago to power it all!

I am soooooooooooo excited about a cruise!

EDIT: Yay! I just found, on the Carnival website, they do offer wireless access on the ships! Yay!

Ooooo I am so excited! My friend at work and I really want to go on a cruise. We can’t really afford Alaska, but maybe we’ll go someday. My husband doesn’t really want to come, he’s not into crowds, but my friend’s sister wants to go.

If three of us go, it’ll be cheaper. The third person is about one half the price of the other two. So if we split the total cost three ways, we all score!

I want to go to the Cayman Islands and Belize. And I’ll want to scuba dive again. Will have to get re-certified and find all my scuba gear.

We will probably go October 2008!!! I love planning trips. Caribbean, here we come!

Today was a long day, and I spent all the money I can for a while now since the husband isn’t currently working.

At night I am bitten all over by some sort of bug. Yuck. I’m tired of it. Happened before and we had an exterminator come in and for a few months after we were fine. But now they are back. I wake with various mosquito bite looking bites on myself and I’m tired of it.

So I bought a new mattress, the one we have is awful and probably infested with something too small to see. And it’s a king, and a bit big anyway. I bought a Queen at Ikea, and a small cheap frame too. So now I’ll be a bit off the ground which will be nice.

I’m not going to put the mattress out until we get a cover for it. Something water proof so our incontinent kid (okay our incontinent dog) can leak on it and we can wash the cover. And it will protect if from all bugs. And then we are going to wash every stinking fabric thing in our house (dog beds, sheets, blankets, etc.. since the husband is not working he’ll have the time! LOL) and vacuum and maybe spray ourselves. I sealed up all the cracks in the bedroom so nothing new can get in.

Hopefully that’ll work. When I was in Vegas for a week all my bites healed up and I was fine. I want them to stop!

And then maybe some corporate performance management will help us keep the bugs away, as we will manage our surroundings!

Oh and check this out, they are building a new bridge, I assume for cars, across the canyon above the Hoover Dam. Looking up almost made me dizzy. Driving over this bridge, once it’s complete, will be spooky for me. It’s so high up above the canyon floor… above the water line.

Speaking of the water line, Lake Mead is terribly low! It is not a good sight. Much different from when we sailed it all those years ago.

When my husband and I got married at the dog park, we exchanged wedding bands… and I don’t know really how that relates to Lake Mead, except that when we were at Lake Mead, I was head over heels for my current husband. And I love the titanium wedding band he has, i wish he would wear the darn thing. Maybe I should string it on a necklace and wear it myself!

One of the places I visited this week was Roger’s Spring. I forgot about the Amoeba that lives in the water, and I was careful not to let the dogs even wade, much less drink or swim. No one is allowed to get sick this weekend.

I thought I’d take a picture of myself in front of the spring. This was on the way to Hoover Dam. I love the desert, it is so beautiful. And this is a good time of year to visit the desert, it’s not too terribly hot. About 80 degrees. I hope not too hot for Levi to do agility tomorrow.

Though caribbean cruises would be fun too, I just love the desert.

Well just a quick note. I’m in Overton, Nevada this week and my friends are taking care of the hermit crabs. And from what I hear all is well and they are happy. There is a white fuzzy thing in the aquarium, which may or may not be mold, but I’ll check it out when I get back.

I am amazed at how good our dogs are in the hotel room. As I sit here blogging and watching TV (gads I hate commercials), there are people talking in the next room and some banging going on… not sure what that is. But Levi and Chase just lie here on the beds with me and snooze.

Once in a while they will get up and bark, but they are very used to it now. And the hotel room is very nice. Clean, continental breakfast every day.. but not enough TV channels and I miss my DVR. There is a table and the shower is hot. Maybe I can buy Mamma Mia tickets from here, too. The internet is pretty reliable. It wasn’t yesterday, but today it has been good and steady.

Anyway.. back to relaxing!
