Back and Tired

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Well, I’m back from the long drive to Laramie Wyoming and back. I think the drive is, actually, rather boring. :) Though most of it is straight and flat so that is good. My car was getting close to over heating up Parley’s Canyon out of Salt Lake, but I wasn’t surprised. We had a very heavy load and my car has had a hard time up that canyon pulling our popup trailer in the past, too.

It was a fun trip, I’ll post more about it on Tip Tail. I ate too much junk and I’m looking at doing a cleanse through Isagenix. As my flyball captain does it and sells it and it looks interesting. I was reading some reviews about it and I think I’m going to try it out. Maybe I’ll drop a few pounds and clean out my system doing the 9 day cleanse.

Maybe I should sell it myself, or term life insurance, as I need to make some more money to pay for my dog habit. I think I’m going to buy a GPS. I really want one… she had one with and they are amazing. I travel so much, I really want one! :)

Well.. gotta get some work done. I’m wondering why Microsoft Access is having problems with a query of mine. Uck!

Going Out of Town

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Share photos on twitter with TwitpicWell, once again, I’m going out of town with the dogs. Gonna go do Flyball in Laramie, Wyoming. My car, as you can see, is loaded down. I borrowed the car top carrier from a friend at work, and the back end has a hitch rack with both flyball boxes on it.

I am sure we are going to get rotten gas mileage on the trip. But there will be two of us splitting gas, so that will help. :)

I am quite tired of traveling, though. And I appreciate my time at home more than anything. But flyball is fun and we’ll have a good time. Chase loves flyball. The dogs love to travel and go new places. Once I retire, and can stay home during the week, then traveling on the weekends won’t be so bad.

I don’t know if I’ll have internet access where I am going… but I did download a little application that allows me to code in PHP and MySQL offline. It’s nice! I’m going to try to work on a little web app to keep track of flyball dog data, race times, etc, and see how that goes. :)

Talk atcha when I get back!

Old Sailing

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Husband SailingI now have just about 15.4 Gig of photos on my latop. :) I’ve been digging up old backups from CD and DVD and from my husband’s computer so that I can arrange them all and organize them all and back them all up together. Then I’ll probably put a copy in a safety deposit box so as to keep them very safe.

I love photos. This is of my husband when we went sailing on the San Francisco Bay back in 1998. I think it was 1998, anyway… the pictures don’t have a date stamp on them and I’m not positive about the year! But I’m pretty sure that’s it. We didn’t stay at any Hilton Head rentals in San Fran… but I’ll tell ya, it was a total riot sailing into Fisherman’s Warf from the ocean side, finding a slip, and staying overnight!

I don’t think I’d ever do it again. We were pretty big dorks and didn’t know what we were doing sailing. And I wouldn’t feel safe now that I’m older and much more mortal. :) But I’m glad we did it, we got some great memories and pictures!

Trying Disqus for Comments

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I recently posted a comment on another blog and found out about Disqus, which is a commenting system you can sign up for and then apply a plugin to your wordpress blog.

I think I really like it. It’s like a community of commenters. the only thing I don’t like is that when I reply to comments, the commenter is not emailed directly about my reply unless they are a member of Disqus themselves. If they are not… if they are unverified, it’s called, then they don’t get a reply email.

Hopefully this will change soon. I have this commenting system on this blog, and my other blog, Tip Tail, to try it out.

My Disqus Profile is, I think, viewable by anyone. If you have problems with this commenting system please, please let me know. You don’t have to be registered with Disqus to comment, but if you do register you can claim all your comments and participate. It’s fun!

I am catching back up in sleep and energy after my trip to Colorado… it’s amazing how tiring a 10 hour drive can be. And, I’ve still gained some weight… ugh! So back to the Eat To Live plan I am going. I lost more weight eating like that than anything else. And being healthy means for life insurance no medical exam is needed.. or we can hope!

I Feel So Tired

Monday, May 12th, 2008

ugh.. back from Colorado. I’m dead tired. Got up about 10am.. and it’s noon now and I think I need a nap. Tatum is sleeping by me on the couch, and Chase is sleeping upstairs. They did well and had fun.

My bed is so comfortable compared to that bed in the Motel we stayed in. And the shower was so dirty! It was awful! It was a Super 8 and I didn’t really like it. And I’m pretty tolerant of Motels, usually, too. At least the curtains closed and the sheets were clean.

I think I’m going to go take a nap…

Tiring Travel

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Well, I’m home. Finally. It was a long drive, and a long trip. A bit too long, I think. Sheltie Nationals was okay but not nearly as fun as Collie Nationals was back in 2006 in Boise, Idaho when I went with my husband.

The dogs had a good time and got alone well with the dogs we stayed with, which was nice. The driving weather home yesterday wasn’t bad at all. I guess we just missed all the snow, as we heard there was a lot coming down. But I-70 wasn’t bad. We left about 7:30 AM and I got home about 7 PM. Yikes, lots of driving, but it worked out well.

We didn’t have any games to play on the trip, so I knitted socks. I didn’t get them done but pretty close. I’ll have to post pictures of them soon.

For now, back to work, and back to waking up.

I’m in Vegas!

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Well.. just a short post, I’m actually in Las Vegas Nevada at a Flyball Seminar. I took Chase and Tatum with me. I won’t, most likely, have very much internet access while I’m here. If I do I will probably post on Tip Tail, my dog blog, to post pictures and things.

We are staying in a townhouse and we are hoping to have a good time!

Cruise Ticker

Woo Hoo I’m excited!

This weekend will be busy, not much blogging. I’ll be at an agility trial with the boys. Will be fun, wish me luck. :)

Headed to the Clicker Expo

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

This will be my last post probably until about Monday. I have all my blogging assignments done, I packed last night, and I’m ready to go.

I’m going to the Clicker Expo in Los Angeles. I’m excited. I’ve been wanting to go to one of these for years, ever since I started reading about clicker training!

I hope there is not too much cool stuff to buy… because I just am low on money! I need a raise. But that’s nothing new. I’ll have my laptop with me but if I blog, it’ll be over on Tip Tail, my dog blog, since this is all about dog training.

Anyway.. talk atcha next week!

Stuff Done

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Well I got a lot done today. Did some dog training, bought some dog food, got a Mammogram (never fun), and now I’m home. I also sent in my flyball seminar entry for Tatum. They are having a green dog seminar on Friday, and I’m excited about that. So now I have to make sure I can have it off work, the extra day, but I don’t think that’ll be a problem.

This is a short week for me. Going to LA on Thursday. I hope it’s warm there. Will be a nice change from getting dumped on with 2 inches of snow per hour today. :) It was nice not having to go in to work, though, that’s for sure. We need a corporate relocation here, a building not in the capitol would be nice! Something closer to home. Oh well, wishful dreaming.

And dangit, I was going to write about something else and now I forgot what the heck it was. Gah! Oh well. Maybe tomorrow.
