How Does It Feel To Betray Your Own Race?

Well, I went and saw Avatar today. My opinion… best movie ever made. Ever. All Time. And I don’t know if James Cameron will be able to outdo this one! Of course I love Sci Fi. I love a good story. And I also love good special effects.

The 3D technology is brand new, never been done before. And it will knock your socks off. It was absolutely amazing. The planet, Pandora, is beautiful. It glows with color. I wonder if they did any science on the planet… I’ll have to look it up. See if there is any research behind the colors, the phosphorescence, and the people and animals.

I titled this post as it is because, as you may know, one of the soldiers changes sides and leaves his human loyalties behind. Well, I just have to say that I have very little loyalty to the human race. To my good friends and family… sure. I have a lot of loyalty, love and devotion. But to humans in general… we are a warring, violent, horrible race and I really feel no pride about being a human.

I would rather be connected, spiritually and physically, to the earth. As they are on Avatar. I feel that I am.. or was, maybe in a prior life? I don’t really believe in prior lives. I believe they are possible, but I really don’t want to come back to this little planet if I do live again. I want to explore the universe either as a living biological being, or as some sort of energy that goes on after my physical body dies.

I should have been a Native American in a prior life if I lived one. I feel connected to the earth through my dogs in a way I never could with any other human.. sorry about that humanity, even those closest to me.

So if you see any movies this year, see Avatar. It is absolutely amazing. I will be going to see it again. And you MUST see it in 3D!

Oh and if I lived on Pandora, I wouldn’t need any mortgage term life insurance because they live in a community that supports life and each other and they don’t need dumb things like money!

Movies and Anime

I have a Netflix account (as you can tell by my sidebar) and lately I’ve been watching some various movies, including Anime. I’ve liked two of the Anime movies I have watched, both Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. I have a profile of the shows I have watched on my Anime List.

I also tried to watch Akira… but the story was disjointed and didn’t make much sense, so I only watched about half before I decided I didn’t like it, and didn’t want to watch anymore.

I will probably watch some more, as they intrigue me. And plus, there is nothing on regular TV now, because of the writer’s strike. So I do need something to watch.

I have True Lies running right now. One of my all time favorite movies. I miss Arnold on movies, and wish he would stop be a governor and start doing movies again!

Gimme a Cheesy Action Adventure Anyday

Sometimes I think my movie tastes are very shallow. Well, I used to like the deep meaningful movies and some of my favorites include The Fisher King and Dead Poets Society. But also among my favorites are Joe Vs. the Volcano (which I think is, actually, quite deep if you get it) and The Princess Bride.

Since there has been hardly anything to watch on TV lately, I have been going through the Dish Network HD channels and recording various shows. I recorded and, mostly, watched Original Sin with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas. I didn’t like it. It was one of those relationship shows that settles wrong with me. I’d rather watch a fun chick flick like 50 First Dates. Now that was a cute show.

I also don’t really care for the mainstream movies that get the Oscar Awards. Brokeback Mountain was pretty good, but mostly because of the subject, not necessarily the story line. If I want to see people in rotten relationships, drug addictions, or other miserable lives, I have only to watch the nightly news, read the paper, or drive downtown. When I watch a TV Show or a movie, I want a light happy comedy with a happy ending.

I have been also enjoying Netflix (see my sidebar for movies I’m watching) and I watched Hellboy last night. I was entertained. :) It wasn’t my most favorite, but it was a lot more enjoyable than Original Sin!

So maybe I’m shallow in my movie watching anymore. Give me a good, cheesy action adventure any day as opposed to a show about a relationship gone bad or people cheating on each other. I do enjoy movies and TV I guess I need my own home theater popcorn machines to go with my show watching.

Psych and Monk and Stargate Atlantis have been keeping me entertained during the Writer’s Strike. But they are ending now… I’ve been watching Terminator, the Sara Connor Chronicles, which im enjoying. I hope Heroes comes back soon. And my cousin has introduced me to Anime, so I’m getting some Anime on Netflix too.

Ahh.. I just enjoy a good story. Or even just a cheesy story. :)

Oh my Ugh!

Goodness I haven’t blogged here in Five Days!? That’s awful! What is going on with me!? Well, I’ll tell ya. Saturday and Sunday I was doing agility with the dogs all day both days. Saturday was a 12 hour day and I was beat afterwards. But Chase got his Open Standard Title and he is doing so well I am so happy with him! And Levi did good to though no Qs for that collie boy.

Anyway then Monday I burned videos all day from the trial, and watched TV and rested. And wanted some popcorn machines so I could eat because I was hungry and I love popcorn, but I was good and just ate healthy stuff all day. And drank a lot, I was so thirsty all day.

So I’m catching up now and hopefully things won’t be so slow on my blogs!

Movie Time!

I am done with the computer for the day. I’ve done a ton today… and the last few days, and I’m getting burned out. I have most things done and I don’t have to finish until February when my old host expires. Transferring the email and the astronomy gallery are going to be the most challenging.

I have a movie to watch tonight, and I wish I had a popcorn machine to make popcorn, but I just have microwave popcorn that I’m going to pop and munch on during the movie.

My weight is down to 154.2 lbs. That is a five pound loss so far. Which makes me very happy! Good night! Oh, I might knit too but we’ll see.

Tin Man

I watched the new mini-series Tin Man that was on the Sci-Fi channel recently. I have to say, I liked it a lot. I don’t usually like the sci-fi movies, they are usually hokey and the acting is bad. But Tin Man had good actors, a good story line, and was just fun to watch.

I won’t go into the story line since you can find that anywhere else on the web. I recorded them on my Dish Box and will be watching them again. I will admit, I have never been able to watch the original Wizard of Oz. I didn’t see it as a child and as an adult I just have not liked it much.

My favorite character was Glitch, whose real name (on the show) was Ambrose. He had his brain removed, his part was similar to the scarecrow in the original. He is played by Alan Cumming, and I had to go check out his information. He has a geek look, but his character just had a quality that I found attractive. And, in real life, how cool is he… ? Well, he’s bi, and I think that is awesome. I am also bi, if you haven’t read my about me page. And so I like to find others who are, especially celebrities. They are rare, for sure.

Anyway, the role I like him in the best was, of course, Nightcrawler from X2. I didn’t even know that was him. I loved nightcrawler he was my favorite X-Men character. Well, besides Wolverine, of course.

I better get off the computer. Been doing stuff all day and tonight I’m going to the Melting Pot with my coworkers for our Christmas Dinner. I love the Melting Pot. All Fondue. I’m going to pig out on the cheese fondue appetizer and the chocolate fondue dessert and who cares about the main course? LOL. I’m even wearing a dress and makeup, go figure. I wish my husband was coming. I told him he had to come to one Christmas party with me this year, and he chose next weekends at my friend’s house. Not this one. Oh well. I love him anyway. :)

The Tree, What A Sight to See

Christmas TreeHere is our Christmas Tree. It is not a fancy tree. It doesn’t have any glass ornaments or lights, because they might be dangerous to the dogs. But it’s a real live cut tree and it smells great in here! We are lucky in that our real estate is close to the trees.

Christmas TreeAnd here are some of the ornaments on the tree. I love the smooth blue collie ornament. I think I bought it on ebay a couple of years ago. I would still like more dog safe ornaments. I think my sister got us all the pretty red flowers. I love them. They really brighten up the whole tree and bring it alive. Maybe next year we will have lights again, but maybe not. Either way is fine by me.

And wow, it’s been one year since we got HD. How cool. I just read last year’s blog post from this day. I do love my HD!

Happy Thanksgiving

It is mostly over but Happy Thanksgiving everyone anyway. I had a busy day, cleaned my spare bedroom, cooked, then went over to my Dad’s. My Mom is still in Germany. My sister and I brought lots of food. And it was good healthy food, too! I like that much better than greasy buttery food.

So it was a good day. Now I’m my new bed, on my new frame, and I’m going to go watch an episode of Blood Ties here on my laptop. I’ll post pictures of the bed in a few days.

Good night!

BitComet and Windows Scheduler

Good crap nothing is ever easy, and multiply that by 2,000 when working on computers.

Just spent the last hour and a half trying to get BitComet to execute from Windows Vista Scheduler. After finally figuring out which user I had to use… after I figured out that it was a user problem… how come Vista has to have so many dang users? I am admin, I am GOD on this computer, I should automagically have every right I need.

Well, finally I think it’s working. Should auto start in 1 minute… wish me luck.

Something to Say

Dangit! I have something to blog about but I keep forgetting, when I’m in front of the laptop, what it is. I thought of it, again, as I was driving home from Flyball practice today but now it’s slipped my mind.

I need to twitter it by my cell or something when I think of it. I am just getting too darn old, dangit. It was a deep, meaningful and important subject, too!

Like maybe Vampires! :) I’ve been watching the episodes of Moonlight I missed. Hubba hubba…. oh yeah I remember now! Obsession! Or, rather, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. That’s it! See I knew it was something deep and meaningful.

But now it’s too late and time for bed. It’d 9:03 pm, but really it’s 10:03 because we just switched back to regular time from DST. I hate Daylight Savings Time. The only good thing about it is in the fall, when we fall back, and I can sleep in an extra hour in the mornings. Yay!
