Okay I did it, I signed up for SocialSpark. Yes, with this blog. I’ve been surfing around their website for a few days now… and it took a while for my blogs to be approved. But they have been approved, and now I am a fully fledged member.

So far, I don’t see any really super opps. :) Unfortunately. But we’ll see how it goes in time. And the thing I do like is that links, now, will have the nofollow attribute in them. So maybe, just maybe, google will like that better. Not that I really like, or care about, google, but I do make more money blogging when I have PR. This blog does not have PR at this time, which sucks. And all posts (like this one) require in-post disclosure. Personally, I don’t care one way or another about that.

Anyway, so we’ll see how it goes over the next while. I am not sure I like the layout of their website yet. It seems like it’s all Ajax? Is that Ajax? I’m not very familiar with Ajax so I don’t know. And when searching for an opp, if you resort by one of the columns, it resets your filter criteria, which sucks. So you cant sort and filter in the same window, it seems. But I have yet to figure that out.

So it’s interesting. I’ll keep using it and see how I like it. And hopefully I’ll have a more informative review in a while. It does take me a couple of weeks of using a website to really know whether I like it or not!

School and Work

Ugh… tired! I’ve been doing agility all weekend so I haven’t been around much to blog or reply to comments or watch TV or do much of anything else. It’s over now, and the boys did really well, and I’m dead tired.

So anyway… tomorrow is my day off, then back to work on Tuesday. As far as jobs go, I like my job… though work in general has never been my favorite thing. I do hope to retire in about five years, though, yay! And my husband is still looking for work. He doesn’t have a degree, and I was thinking maybe he might look into engineering co-op programs, or something similar, in order to help him get a degree.

Kettering’s class leading Co-op programs look very interesting… they place students in jobs in their freshman year! I have been thinking that doing some sort of co-op program, where you start working and you basically train on the job, would be great. And they are getting good reviews, too… the US News and World Report has ranked Kettering University as “the #1 University in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering” in its annual “America’s Best Colleges Guide for 2008″

So maybe my husband can look into some industrial engineering, he would be a great engineer.

Love to Travel

SpainI do love to travel. Have you ever been to Spain? Not I. Germany, Switzerland, Denmark.. yes. But not Spain. I would like to go there too one day. Maybe see the Torre de Bujaco or Muralla de Avila. I love history, I love traveling, and I love learning about places. Of course I’d need to find good hotels in spain. I wonder if they have any that take dogs. Not sure what the dog situation is like in Spain, but in Germany it’s much better than the USA.

Or maybe I can look at hotels in barcelona, or even hotels in madrid, just to find some fun places to go!

Fresh Pet Food

Fresh Pet Dog Food As ya’ll most likely know, I currently have six dogs (one is a foster) and two cats in the house. I started looking seriously into dog food about a year and a half ago, deciding that I really needed to have a good grasp on dog food and the health, or unhealth, it provided to my dogs. At that time I went to raw.

I still feed a lot of raw, but I have been also feeding dehydrated dog food, and good quality kibble as well, to give the dogs variety and also to find a good balance for myself. I am happy with the food I have chosen for the dogs and I do think they are healthy and happy.

I had the opportunity to get some samples of Freshpet Select pet food and get a first hand look at the food itself, and provide a review of the food. I’ve included a couple of pictures here in order to show you what it looks like.

The first thing I look at when I look at a new companion animal food is the ingredients. I will not buy any food with byproducts, and I like to see fresh whole meat as at least the first ingredient, preferably the second and third as well.

Levi likes to Eat I received a roll of the Adult Chunky Chicken, Turkey, Vegetable, and Rice Recipe. I am happy to report that the first two ingredients are meat, Chicken and Turkey to be exact. The third is eggs, which is also a good source of nutrients for dogs. The remainder of ingredients are whole ingredients, not parts or byproducts, also good signs. Also included (as you’ll see by the link) they include vitamins and minerals. Many of the livestock nowadays are raised in environments where they may no longer have all the vitamins and minerals necessary. I suppliment my dogs and I am glad to see these guys do, too.

The Deli Fresh foods need to be refrigerated, because they come with no preservatives. Another plus. And I wanted to make sure my dogs enjoyed the product which, enthusiastically, they did. :) You can see by the picture of Levi jumping up on the counter for the Pet Fresh food! He is a goof, though, and is allowed to be on the counters. Within limits, of course.

So I think I will try this food out in the future, and see where I can buy it locally. It would be convenient for travel as long as I have my handy fridge with me in the car that is car powered. But I do that with the raw, too. Has anyone else tried this food? If so, let me know!

Neglecting my Blogs

My goodness! I am not only behind here, I’m also behind on Pixie Tail and Tatum Tot, too. Because of doing so many upgrades. Hrmph. And so I’m going on about it which I probably shouldn’t do… but I have to say, I need to update my sidebar… it’s a mess. And I still have to install half, or more, of my plugins! There’s always something to do!

Anyway, I have to go to the store tonight and buy a Compact Flash card for my new camera. It came yesterday. Wow, only took 3 days. I just ordered it last Thursday! And no card.. so off I go to buy one tonight.

I’m still tired, don’t want to clean much at home… do dishes, or vacuum or mop. We need a dyson vacuum, as we’ve heard they are the best for dog hair. But with all our tile, we only vacuum downstairs anymore. I’ve heard that the Dyson Animal is the best for picking up animal hair, and a couple of my friends have them. They really like them a lot. Looks like these guys have a few different listings for the Dyson Animal, I’m going to check out the differences and see what they are.

Time for bed yet?
