UGH… I hate it when companies sell. I loved Steadcom. They were so awesome. I was with them for three years. They hosted my VPS and their support was amazingly fast. And they were really affordable, too. I was hoping I could have my VPS with them forever…

Alas, companies sell. I don’t know why the sold, but they did. And the new company is called eTecc. Well, I wasn’t too pleased when I realized that eTecc expected it’s VPS customers to set up their VPSs from scratch. Of course I realized this AFTER they shut the server down that had my entire VPS on it. Needless to say, I kinda panicked. I’m not the most savvy server admin in the world.. and when I’m working on my server and I get those messages that say “Please Contact Your System Administrator” I just cringe because that probably means hours of googling and reading message boards to find out the solution of my problem. I want my VPS to just be set up, and just to work, and not to have any problems.

I have a VPS instead of a shared host because I have quite a few blogs that I run on my VPS. Plus I have Utah Dogs, and although it’s not all that popular, I want to keep it going in the hopes that someday it will be popular. Shared hosts just don’t seem beefy enough for my needs. But then VPSs are more complicated and sometimes beyond my skill level. Alas, I like the VPS it seems to work pretty well.

So anyway, yes eTecc did send out an email, and far down in the email (which I didn’t really analyze closely) it said we’d need to set up our VPS entirely from scratch. Well I didn’t really examine that part, and so the old server just shut down one day and I was mightly upset. Like I said, it would take me a week, or more, to set everything back up again!

Fortunately eTecc helped me out. If they had access to the servers, then the probably have mirroring software too. It’d be a zillion times faster and easier to mirror the software onto the new servers (I guess they didn’t just keep the old servers?). And they did it… they came through, I’m so relieved. I don’t want to change hosts, though I still might need more memory eventually. We’ll see. But eTecc was able to rebuild my VPS and it’s up and running again. What a relief! They provided some good support, even though their first reply took a while.

So here I am, back online… and hopefully I’ll stay that way. Thanks eTecc, for providing customer service to a self schooled system admin who kinda limps by with her VPS. I do greatly appreciate it.

Well It’s been a week since I got back from Denmark. I’ll be posting videos off and on as I make them up. But believe me, it’s going to take me a while! Day One and Day Two weren’t so bad, they are only a couple of minutes. Day Three video took me like 3 hours for 7 mintues. LOL. Oh well… here is day one!

I am having fun making the videos but I need a multivitamin to make me stronger so that I have the energy to do them! And I wish it didn’t take quite so long. But day 3 has video in addition to still pictures and that is why it took me a little bit longer than the other ones.

So the Friday before the flyball tournament I bit my tongue really bad. I mean, really really bad. I have never bitten my tongue so bad in my life. I felt the muscles tear when my teeth bit down. Yeah I know I know, after 40+ years of life I should know to chew my food, not my tongue. Bleh.

So it’s been hurting like absolutely crazy for the last while. Yuck! I hate pain! Maybe some business insurance is what I need to fix me up… ugh. Well, probably not. But I’ve been babying it and being careful not to chew on my tongue anymore. I hope it heals up soon!

Yup, I did it. Somehow I broke my MacBook. I really don’t know how, but it just won’t turn on. UGH! Makes me mad. My husband is a sweetie and took it to the stop for me. They say they probably want to wipe the hard drive and so I have to back the whole thing up. But we are not sure how to back up the Mac formatted hard drive so we are working on that.

Maybe I need some roadside assistance for my Mac… or for any computers that I have. Dangit! I am posting from my work computer (don’t tell) and I might have to break out the old windows laptop for a while. Pffft.

Okay so I think I wrote a bit ago that I have a staph infection in my nose. My husband tells me that getting a staph infection in one’s nose is actually rare and not a good thing. Staph lives on our skin a lot and we have it all over, but not in our noses. This could very well be why I haven’t been able to breath decently for, oh, about 2 years now. :p

So I got this nebulizer in the mail. I should take some pictures of it. The medication is an anti-bacterial and it has to be refrigerated. And I put it, like water, into the nebulizer and I have to breathe it in, through my nose, three times a day… for 21 days! Ugh. I have a hard enough time taking pills for a week! But I really hope this will help my nose, darnit! I want to be able to breathe again. If this doesn’t help, then I will probably get that surgery to open up my nasal passages. I just want to breathe!

So in the dog training world there is a phrase that we use. Frustration Tolerance. Maybe it’s in the kid or human world too but since I live in the dog world that’s what I know.

I have no fulfillment center in my life right now but I do have work. And I wonder if I have too high of a frustration tolerance. That just means that I can tolerate frustration quite a bit. You might think I don’t tolerate frustration well since I have very little patience and want what I want when I want it and that is usually NOW.

But when it comes to work and various other parts of my life I can put up with a whole heck of a lot of crap before I blow my top. And my Zoloft, of course, makes it so I hardly get mad at all anymore.

Well I think I’ve reached my frustration tolerance max with work. I think I realized, after 10 years, that I really don’t like programming. It’d tedious and there is so much detail.. it’s like staring at the computer screen all freakin’ day long and going through letters and numbers with a fine tooth comb. Bleh. I’m sick of it.

Not that I can do anything about it.  I have four years before I can retire. And I love my coworkers. And I know this is a good job. I’m just having problems lately having to work at all. I should be an artist living on the street doing what I love. But instead I’m stuck in a stupid cubicle day in and day out and I really am tired of it.

Bleh. Oh well. Work was a pain today because my pager didn’t go off when it should have.  So I’m cranky and feeling like an idiot and a failure. But I feel like that a lot at my job so no surprise there.

Oh well, is it lunch time yet?

I have been changing my bedsheets more often and I must say, it’s nice to get the crumbs and the dog hair out, not to mention to chewed bone and treat remains the dogs leave there. :p Anyway, so I did this little poll….

So I am still on track with my Candida treatment and diet. I haven’t missed a dose of Diflucan yet, which is a good thing. And I’ve been pretty darn strict with this diet, which is driving me nuts in the evenings.

Oh and do I feel better? I think I do. I think it’s going to be a slow road, however. And I probably need to exercise soon, even if I’m still tired and not feeling well. I have been sedentary for so long now that I really am loosing stamina and strength. So an easy exercise program should be in the making, even if it’s just walks around the neighborhood.

I’m still having cravings for food in the evenings. I don’t think I’m hungry, and it’s not really for just sugar or just salt or fat that I’m craving. I just want to sit down with a nice cup of hot cocoa or some chips or something. Not sure if I’ll ever get over that. And the desire is so strong that it can be overwhelming sometimes. Bleh. It’s amazing how intense cravings can be.

So I have an appointment with the doctor in a couple more weeks. I’m sticking with this, and doing a good job of being strict, no matter how boring or frustrated I get. I have cheated twice in 12 days which, I guess, isn’t really that bad since they were tiny things. So I guess I should be proud of myself!

My husband i starting a garden this year! He is an excellent gardener. And he keeps the house going very well. Sometimes I think he does more at home than I do going to work and training the dogs. He even tries to repair video cards if he can.. but mostly he has to send them in!

So far he’s planted peas. It’s still cold, I think the potential for frost is still around until sometime in May.  But peas can handle the frost and they grow pretty fast. And we both love peas.  He also wants to plant kohlrabi and some other things. And some herbs. Maybe we’ll get some basil going and we can make pesto. YUM. I love pesto, it’s my favorite food in the whole entire world. Though not sure if I can consider a sauce, a food, buy why not.

So spring is in the air, yahooo…. a garden will be fun!

Yay it’s spring! I’m so excited. I love spring.  I think I like it better than fall… though in fall the trees are still green, or colorful… and the flowers are still up.  I’m just not a winter person and so I love it when it starts to get warm. The potential, the peace, the slowness of summer… I just love that.

I don’t have any vacations planned, though, until September. Going to Dog Camp again, that’ll be fun. Well, I have flyball trips planned, though, those will be fun but I don’t really consider them vacation. Maybe I should!

I love shopping in the spring… for clothes, Sferra sheets for the bed… and of course dog supplies. But I don’t really have money, and so I’m going to wait for a while and not buy.. gotta make some more money niche blogging. I plan on posting about that soon too!
