Overdid It Last Weekend

Well I had a fun weekend doing agility with Chase. He did good and I learned some things about agility. Things I probably should have known years ago but I’m just glad that I do know now!

I do think I overdid it though. I was actually feeling pretty good on Saturday and on Sunday, but now again today I’m dragging, really tired, and have no appetite. I also have al ot of sinus pressure and a sinus headache. My neck and back and knees hurt. But none of these things is anything new, really.

So I am taking it easy, working from home today, excited to go get my new G1 phone from my sister’s house today. Yay! No XBox, but who needs one with a way cool G1 Phone? I’m way excited to check it out!

Finally Found a Doctor!

Yay! I’m excited! He’s an MD and he is Lyme Literate, too. Though I don’t know if I should post names or not. ;) Anyway, I have an appointment for June 15th, it’s a Monday, so I can work from home and head down for the appt. It’s in Provo, Utah, so about an hour away from me. But if he can help me, then it’ll be worth it.

I also found a website where I can track my symptoms and how I’m feeling. MedHelp.org.  So after a month I can really see what I’m feeling, and what trends I have.  And doctors may just hate it that us patients now have access to the web and a ton of info… but from what I’ve read I could have some sort of auto-immune condition. Maybe Lupus or something. But Fibromyalgia is also considered auto-immune. But talking to this guy about Lyme will make me feel better too.  Mono can be a side-condition of these other conditions.

I’ve been feeling pretty crappy today. I have felt crappy since last Wednesday.   I tried to do agility with Chase on Saturday, but failed. I wasn’t able to keep up with him. So I stayed home on Sunday and slept a good portion of the day. Bleh. Still today I feel tired, my neck hurts, my knees hurt, my head hurts… yadda yadda yadda. I’m sure the world is tired of hearing of my complaints.

My laptop also may be sick, maybe it needs more  computer memory but it’s been making a nasty sound like the fan is going into overdrive. Maybe it needs to go back to the shop, too, but I hope not.

Oh well, I have a month to wait for this doc. So I’ll take care of myself until then, and take life slow.

Major Layoffs At Work

I’m not going to go into detail because I don’t like to share private information here on my blog… but three people were laid off at my work last week. It’s horrible. One of them directly affects me because it was my boss.

I love my boss, as a boss and as a friend. And my heart broke to see her go. Fortunately our friendship will keep us in contact and is more valuable that the work relationship anyway. And she is in good spirits. In a way, it’s an opportunity for her, some relaxing time off, and some decisions for the days ahead. She’s an amazing woman, smart, and has a lot of knowledge so she should be able to get another job pretty fast.. if she wants to. :)

However, for those of us left at work, we’ll be moved back under the boss I left a couple of years ago. And I won’t go into detail about that, either. But suffice it to say that I was very happy being under my friend/boss for the last two years. And some things will probably change now, changes that I won’t like much. Maybe some wholesale programs will be cut.

Anyway, the dogs keep me happy, and life goes on. And I guess it’s good that I still have my job. Four years and two months and I can retire. I’m hoping for September of 2013. The time really will fly, I’m sure.

Star Trek 2009

logoscWell I just got home from watching Star Trek. I have to admit, I was completely amazed. It’s non-stop action.. which kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. I saw it at the local Imax which just enhanced the entire experience.

The casting was excellent, and I could picture James T. Kirk and Spock in the new actors.  I could also picture McCoy and Scotty, Chekov, Sulu and Ohura. They did a great job and they all felt right. It was like meeting them all over again for the first time.

The ships were are authentic to TOS, and the uniforms were, too. Even down to the sleeves with the rank ensignia stripes.  Of course they used a slightly different design and a little different material to fit the 21st century movie viewers tastes, but they pulled it off perfectly.

Slight Spoilers

They incorporated Captain Pike too, and at the end we see him in the chair that he lived in in the very early Original Star Trek days.  Though he was still functional.  They also had Kirk do his Star Fleet Academy test that he cheated on.  It was great seeing that all take place!

I wonder where the new Star Trek Universe will go to now… as, since this was a time travel episode, it ended with some pretty major changes. Maybe they need to rewrite all of the TV episodes and movies now, to line up with the new movie!

All in all I loved it. The special effects were amazing, and the story line was rich and kept my interest the entire movie. Wow. I will have to see it again. And I must admit, as much as I liked X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Star Trek had a better story line and richer characters. But not as much eye candy for women. Dang, you just can’t go wrong as Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine.

Now off to get some compact flash cards for my camera so I can take more dog pictures! I’d rather go back to the movies!

Back and Not Back

Well I am back from flyball. Haven’t gotten back to posting as much as I’d like… but I’m getting there. I still feel crappy. And today we just found out that one of our team members has been laid off. Complete shock as we thought she would be the last to go. Actually, I’d rather have it be me that got laid off. She is so much more valuable than I am to this team… but I don’t want to blog about it too much. You know, privacy and all that.

So I’ll just talk about my health and my energy level. I don’t have, or want, a Bob stroller to jog with but I wish I could jog again. I wonder if my continued feelings of blek are because of Fibromyalgia or Lyme Disease. I got a Lyme kit test in the mail but it’s expensive to send off. $225.00 for the cheapest one. And I don’t have $225.00 right now, much less more than that. And I don’t know where to have blood drawn and prepared. So I’m looking at Lyme support in Utah and I’ve found a Yahoo Group that I like. However, they do some things by phone, and I hate the phone.

I don’t think my Mono is all gone yet either. And my neck hurts. Yesterday it got so bad in the evening my head hurt too. I had to run an errant last night but then when I got home I took some pills and crashed on the couch and that helped.

I’m emotionally fried today because of my friend getting laid off. Geez… what a stupid decision. That’s all I’ll say.

Been Niche Blogging

Filed Under (Chatter) by Cynthia on 06-04-2009

Well, I’ve been neglecting my regular blogs because I’ve joined the Niche Blogger program and I’ve been devoting most of my time to that.  I started about a month ago and I’m having a lot of fun doing it. I haven’t made much money yet but I hope that will start in a month or two. It’s not an instant success by any means.  I really want to make money quick but I realize that is not really going to happen… well, I guess by quick I mean within the next couple of months. Not tomorrow. I wish it were tomorrow!

So as a wee update, so far I have three blogs up and running with content scheduled until about the end of April or May, depending on the blog.  They get to sit and marinate for a while. :) I have another blog I am putting content into, and another idea waiting in the wings.

The goal here is to get 20 blogs going, though that might take me a year to do! And market them and get readers and people to buy affiliate things off my blogs. So we’ll see how it goes. I’m really encouraged about this I think it’s going to really work out.  The ideas so far are amazing!  It’s all so logical!

So anyway sorry if I neglect this blog in order to do my Niche Blogging.  I’ll post when I can!

Pretty New Floors!

floors-1Ooo these are not mine! I wish they were, of course! They are my Mom and Dad’s new floors.  Aren’t they gorgeous? Mom already had the new counter tops and maybe she found her faucets online, but it just makes me really want a new kitchen! floors-2I love hardwood floors. We had some under our carpet but it was ruined, to many foster dogs in and out of the house and the urine went right through the carpet.

But that’s okay, we have tile now and I love it!  Though wood, I think, looks warmer and more homelike. But still, I like our tile.

So these look great, don’t you think! I think the edging is nice too, and the bannisters on the stairway are awesome, they’ve been around for a while now though.

Such pretty floors!

Local Ad Link

Okay I signed up for this because my friend told me it was cool and might be a good way to make money! I’m always looking to make money. Mostly because I spend way too much money. LOL.

From what I understand, if I can hook up advertisers with this Ad Network, I can get a percentage of what the advertiser pays for the advertising.  Hrm… sounds pretty nice. It’s an MLM (Multi Level Marketing) deal, so anyone who signs up under my Local Ad Link page, and sells something, I get a kick back from them too.

Needless to say I haven’t actually done anything with it yet.  But I am going to try.. I don’t like to sell. In fact, I hate to sell, but maybe if I get some cards and pass them out, that’d work. Just to some local businesses.

It sounds like a good idea. I am always looking for local businesses and when I Google them, I have to put in Utah or whatever, and that’s a pain.

So we’ll see how it works.  If I never make anything, that’s okay. It’s free to sign up (you have to scroll Waaaay to the bottom of the sign up page to find the free membership).  And free is good.

I’ve read on the web that it could be a scam, but as long as I don’t pay anything for it, then it’s worth it! I’ll let you know how it goes!

Too Tired To Blog

Ugh.. I’m beat. I was at a DOCNA agility trial last weekend and the days were long, and the stairs were many, and now my knees hurt a lot. I am going to go take some Advil PM tonight and hope that my knees feel better tomorrow.

I need some auto performance parts for my body, so I can be younger and even be a cyborg. LOL. Dang my body is falling apart. Not fun at all.

I have never had knee pain before so this is a new and exciting (not) feeling in my body. Bleh. My ankle is okay, was sprained but it’s doing fine.  And my neck still hurts. Going to be trying to do more about that in the near future, too.

Good night!

Taking The Risk – Buying Stocks!

Filed Under (Chatter, Daily Posts) by Cynthia on 12-03-2009

Tagged Under : ,

Okay.. I’m gonna do it. I started up an account with Zecco.com which is a basically free online stock trading website. Not completely free, they charge $4.50 per trade. But I think I can swing that!

So I’m ready to spend the big bucks! I transferred a whopping $30.00 into my account, and I’m willing to by an entire 10 shares of Fanny Mae Stocks! Okay okay, at $0.40 cents a share, that’s really not that much money. LOL $8.00ish including the $4.50 per trade fee. So here I go, joining the online trading market!

Why Fanny Mae? Well, I think they are pretty secure because the government can’t let them fail. Not only because it’s so huge in the USA. Also, 10% of China’s GDP is invested in Fanny Mae. Weird, huh? Fanny Mae was up to $68.00 a share back in 2007, so there’s actually some potential here to make some money!  If the shares go up to, say, $40 a share, my 10 shares would be worth $400! Maybe with that I could afford some wedding invitations! Not that I’m going to need any… lol

And I figure the worse that can happen is the value goes down even lower. But it can’t go any lower than $0.40 cents lower at this point.  LOL can stocks have a negative value?

I don’t know anything about the stock market, actually. It’s just too tempting to go and buy some of these cheap stocks and see what happens. I won’t trade a lot. I’ll just buy and sit on them.  Maybe 10% of my GDP will end up in stocks… LOL.  Or maybe that’d be my GPP… Gross Personal Product.

I’m also thinking of buying some stocks in Citigroup, because they have tanked. And they are just over $1.50 per share now. And maybe some stocks in solar energy, too.

I have a whole $30 to spend, I’m one of the big spenders now!
