All My Bad Symptoms

I’ve been wondering lately about how rotten I feel and maybe I could possibly have Lyme Disease? I know I know, I’m a bit of a hypochondriac, but I wanted to list what I’m feeling mostly so I don’t forget.

I have really nasty neck pain and muscle tension. It started in my neck and it’s pretty much all over my body now… the muscle tension. The neck pain is still there, probably did get worse because my car accident, but I really think it’s because of my intense muscle tension. Even my face and my head feel tense. The muscles of my face seem to always be tense.

I get hives and rashes off and on all the time. I’ve been trying to find out if I’m allergic to something, and I think it’s some types of clothes. But I still seem to get the rashes and hives even when I try to avoid these materials.

And after my last agility trial, my knees have started to hurt. And the pain has not stopped. Even with rest, ice or heat, or taking it easy. What is the deal with my knees hurting?

I don’t seem to sleep well anymore, I used to sleep really well all the time. My nose gets stuffy a lot off and on and I can hardly breathe at night.

According to Wikipedia about Lyme Disease another symptom is “a purplish lump that develops on the ear lobe, nipple, or scrotum.” Even though this isn’t supposed to occur in people in North America, I’ve been frequently seeing this on my breasts. Hrmm..

Wikipedia also says:

Acute neurological problems, which appear in 15% of untreated patients, encompasses a spectrum of disorders.[17] One is facial or Bell’s palsy, which is the loss of muscle tone on one or both sides of the face. Another common neurologic manifestation is meningitis, characterized by severe headaches, neck stiffness, and sensitivity to light.

Which could explain my facial tension and my neck stiffness. I have not been getting severe headaches, but I have been getting some minor ones. I never have been prone to headaches.

Also: “Patients can also experience flu-like symptoms such as headache, muscle soreness, fever, and malaise.”

And:

Chronic neurologic symptoms occur in up to 5% of untreated patients.[17] A polyneuropathy manifested primarily as shooting pains, numbness, and tingling in the hands or feet may develop. A neurologic syndrome called Lyme encephalopathy is associated with subtle cognitive problems such as difficulties with concentration and short term memory. Such patients may also experience profound fatigue.[22] Other problems such as depression and fibromyalgia are no more common in people who have been infected with Lyme than in the general population.[22][23] Chronic encephalomyelitis, which may be progressive, may involve cognitive impairment, weakness in the legs, awkward gait, facial palsy, bladder problems, vertigo, and back pain. In rare cases, frank psychosis has been attributed to chronic Lyme disease effects, including mis-diagnoses of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Panic attack and anxiety can occur, also delusional behavior, including somatoform delusions, sometimes accompanied by a depersonalization or derealization syndrome similar to what was seen in the past in the prodromal or early stages of general paresis.

So now my question is, can I go to the doctor and insist on a test for Lyme Disease? I mean I know I can, but do I have the bravery to do so? I should. Who cares if it’s negative? Hrm… I might just call the doctor tomorrow then, if they are open. I should write down what I’m feeling because usually I will forget to tell the doctor something.

Yuck! Well, I would like to know if I have something though, I’m tired of feeling like crap.

I still do think you have Lyme Disease but a call to the Dr. is not a bad Idea. This a common thing back in the North East. I would see that test order all the time back there. This disease is also trasmitted by tick bite and the bite site forms what is knows as a Bull-eye Rash.
Anyway I hope you feel better.

You should go get checked. Never hurts and your mind will be at rest one way or the other.

You go with the doctor, but I think you need a good massage and relaxation in the nature of two or three days. Your symptoms may be relate to several diseases and they can only be the result of fatigue body. Allergy is really the reason to go to the doctor.
