I Want To Spend Money

Published by Cynthia at 1:34 pm under Daily Posts

I don’t know what it is.. but every now and then I get this irresistible bug to go and spend money. Buy something frivolous and something that I really don’t need. I wonder if this is a touch of what a shopping addiction is like?

So lately I’ve wanted another blue Life Is Good collar for Muffit. The blue is perfect, it’s my flyball team’s colors and looks so good on Chase. So yesterday I actually put Chase’s on Muffit, and I ordered a new one for Chase. =P Yeah, totally pointless and not needed in our house full of collars! Dangit! But I just wanted one so I ordered ack. I’m terrible. But I do have some money, so I guess I can spend it. =P

That link goes to the Life Is Good website but they don’t have the collar I’m getting. They do have, however, this pink tank! It matches Tatum’s collar and leash… oh boy, we’ll be matching!

But you know, this is quite dumb of me… because I just went to lunch at Rumbi. And I just donated $5 for a parting gift for a coworker… and last weekend I spent some money at the Bark in the Park event I went to. And gave $20 to my obedience trainer… so why on earth do I feel the need to spend any more money?

I just pulled out $100 from my checking account for cash for this pay period. Unfortunately, I’m not supposed to pull it out until Friday (on payday) and so it’s now supposed to last me 3 weeks instead of 2. And already $15 of it is gone. GAH!

Everyone gets those urges! Very normal, and it’s okay to buy small things sometimes. Like you, I try to use my “pocket money”. I give myself $200 a month for eating out, splurges, office donations, etc. When it’s gone, it’s gone. If it builds up (right now I’m at $550!), I get to do something cool with it.

I’ve been fighting the same urge recently. So, I started going through my stuff to see what I can sell! Like the holiday china my mom gave me that I never use: offer in hand from Replacements.com for over $1000! Yay!

Next up: the box my Dad left me. Want a meat grinder? Cheap?

I get that urge too! LOL Paid blogging has helped though. I think before I spend because it takes me a long time to write 200 words for $10.

I should add, the reason I go through my stuff instead of spending is, I realize as I’m throwing stuff out how much money I’ve wasted on crap I don’t actually want.

Dog collars though, that is another story!

Hi Karen, me too! Usually I use my blogging money for things I can have and hold onto, to remind me of my work and the time I spend on it. :)

Hey Splash! Oh I have a meat grinder I want to sell, too! LOL I also go through the house on occasion and sell stuff that we never use. My husband sometimes hides stuff from me… LOL oh well.

LOL Splash I hear ya! Good idea. I also buy stuff I never need and dont’ really want, so I should go through that stuff I already have and it should help me with my spending desires!

One can never have enough dog collars or leashes though.. crates either!

Money burns holes in my pockets. I am really bad about always wanting to buy stuff. Even worse now that I work in a petsmart. I spend all day looking at dog toys and wishing I could buy stuff!
