Sick of my Neck

Yup.. I’m sick of a body part. I’m tired of my neck cracking and popping. I’ve been going to the Chiropractor for a couple of weeks now, and it seems a little bit better, but it’s not 100% good yet.

I think a lot of it has to do with the tension in my neck. I think maybe I need to go get a full body massage, too. One that is really deep and will get into my muscles and loosen them up. I think that sitting at the computer all day, most days, really tenses my neck muscles up and I have to relax them.

But I like the Chiropractor. He massaged my neck yesterday, too, and that helped a lot. I just have to learn to relax while I’m on the computer, dangit, and I just forget to! I get so intense on the computer that I block out anything else. Yup… that’s an addiction for you! But I think I balance it out okay.

so neck, get better darnit!

On this day..

I’m sick of my knee!! LOL. I’ll trade ya one knee for a sore neck……LOL. Still waiting to get to the doc on that one.

Seriously, I hope the chiropractor is helping. Massage can do a lot too! I know a few massage therapists if you need a referral.

don’t stop going! My husband had whiplash as a kid and didn’t know. He went to the doc for a while and stopped when he was getting better and now wishes he had finished treatment!

Thanks Leigh.. I will keep going and hope it helps. I have to stop cracking my darn neck on a regular basis, too, as that just makes it worse!

Sometimes it helps me to wear a foam neck brace for a few hours a day, because it relieves my neck from having to hold up my head on its own. Wearing one in the summer, however, even indoors, is torture.

Heya feefifoto.. I have read that, too. I think I’d be shy to do it out in public, but I wouldn’t mind doing it at home on the weekends. I should get one!

I was thinking it was the computer before I got to that part of your post. I only sit at mine for a few hours and my neck kills me. I’ve moved mine up, down, every which way and I suffer.

I do have chronic neck probs anyway. I have a bulging disc and can only rotate my head about 70% of what I should. ugh

I hear ya on the $$ situation. It’s bad everywhere.

Not sure if its possible where you work, but we can get ergonomic assessments where I work, to ensure that our desks/chairs/monitors/keyboards etc are at the right height.

It really made a difference for me, I used to have the same problems.

Sorry for your pain. I can empathize. My neck and shoulder blade area hurt when I get too tense. Tammy’s right. Raise the monitor so you’re always looking at eye level, not down, not up. Also, I invested in a good desk chair which has helped immensely. I don’t get as tired, which means I don’t feel so much tension.

Neck injury is something serious of an injury and should not be taken lightly. Consider taking care of posture at all times or you might just end up not walking at all. You’ve made the right decision by seeing a chiropractor and that’s what people are supposed to do.Thanks for bringing this up and hopefully people can learn something from this post. If you need help, seek help from the professionals.
