Well yesterday, Monday May 26th, was my birthday. I’m Plenty One! LOL… actually, I’m 41, and I’m not shy about it. Maybe in 10 years I’ll be bothered by my age. I was doing agility all day, and all weekend, so for the most part I forgot it was my birthday.

I love birthdays. I love balloons and flowers and parties and having fun. I just love to celebrate with friends and family. I was pretty tired last night after agility all day… so didn’t do much after visiting my parents. But it was a nice day. And I did enjoy the rain, even though I was standing out in it most of the day.

As I’ve posted quite often I run a VPS… which is a Virtual Private Server, for my blogs and websites. So I have to set up the whole darn thing from scratch since it’s unmanaged. And yeah, those messages that come up that say ‘contact your system administrator’ drive me batty because I am the system administrator! LOL.

Anyway, sometimes I get stuck about web stuff and need help, and I love to find good web hosting tutorials that help me get through my problems. And these guys have some good information on good, cheap web hosts. Not all cheap web hosts are created equal.. sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes you get more. And this website has some good articles that can help anyone out with webhosting. So if you are wanting more information on web hosts… check it out!

Ugh.. tired today. Super tired, recovering from the agility weekend. And I am zoning out.. but actually, I’m zoning out on my work stuff, and that is usually a good thing. But there’s a bit of the code that is stumping me… and maybe my brain is just not up to snuff today.

Maybe lunch will help, though… gonna be taking a lunch break here soon! And then maybe I’ll go to bed at 8 tonight. I went to bed at 8:30 last night, which was nice. I get up at 5am… so it wasn’t really that much sleep!

I’m doing dog sports this weekend… yet again, I’m actually sitting at the trial this weekend being kinda bored, and wishing I was home doing things around the house and zoning out. However, I’m having fun too, and meeting new people from Colorado which is nice.

I’m just so tired. The days are long, and going to dinner afterwards makes them longer. It’s 9:30 pm now and I’ll get up tomorrow at 6. Plus tomorrow is my birthday! Such fun. Oh well… maybe I’ll be able to go to my parents house after for a bit.

So haven’t been dreaming much, or remembering my dreams. Just going to agility, wearing my grubby t-shirts so I don’t get too messy, and hoping for more sleep in the next few weeks.

Been doing agility with the dogs all weekend.. getting home late, after going to dinner with friends (the husband comes and picks up the dogs and takes them home, he is such a great guy), and I haven’t had much time to be a vegetable and relax in front of the TV.

Currently I have Starsky and Hutch on.. I loved this show when I was a kid! Not as interesting to me now but it’s not too bad. I loved Starsky. Anyway, I haven’t had much down time to sit and veg. And I really do enjoy vegging. I like to just sit and zone out. Be it in front of the computer or the TV or a good book. Though I don’t consider a book vegging as much, not sure why.

I need to mediate, or do something that I can just sit and stare at the wall and find peace inside myself. Maybe jump on a treadmill and exercise and get in the zone, or go jogging. Jogging would be best, I think.

Hopefully next week I’ll be able to zone out more. I think I need zone out time to relax and gather myself up again.

Yes.. I have a VPS. It stands for Virtual Private Server. I do enjoy it, I like having ultimate control… it’s like having my own server in my house, that hosts my web sites, however I really hate those dreaded “Contact your system administrator” errors… because dangit, I am the system administrator!

My VPS is through Steadcom and I love them, they always help me out even though it’s an unmanaged account. Meaning I have to manage it all myself. I have set up Linux servers in the past… a couple of times at home, and reset them up due to hardware crashes, so I have a basic idea. However… I am, by no means, a Linux expert and I have to look up every little detail on the web to figure things out. Usually I’m able to figure them out without asking too many questions.

Emails from the server have been bouncing back to me. Finally, after trying a zillion things, I found this web page about HostNames and that finally worked. However… when I reboot the server, the settings go away and the email doesn’t work again. Bah.

So next I have to figure out how to make the settings stick. But that is for another day. I really used to have more fun figuring things out on computers… but now I just want them to work. But I want them cheap, too, and cheap usually means I do things myself. I’m more interested in how dogs work.. and want to do more with the dogs!

The errors I was getting, in the returned email, were:

It appears the domain name must be fully qualified… like www.lunatail.com You can’t just have lunatail in there. Hrmph!

I’m an avid TV watcher and I just have to wonder… not only about obvious lack of blond men on TV and in the movies, but the stark contrast there is between beautiful women actors, and rather plain men actors.

Oh sure sure there are numerous attractive men like Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise. But on TV there are very few really attractive men. Even in the movies, if there’s one or two gorgeous men in the show that’s rare. Even some of the men, like, say, Nicholas Cage, if you didn’t know him and saw him on the street, would just be an average guy. I think his personality makes him very attractive.

And where are all the blond men? I love blond men! The only actor that comes to mind who is very bright blond, and very attractive, is Owen Wilson. I love Owen Wilson and watch all his movies when I can! I haven’t seen his new one yet, though. blond hair, on men and women, is my favorite. I’ve read that many blond men are more feminine… and women generally like the tall dark and handsome look. I will not deny, I also like dark… but I love blond men and want to see more of them. I can’t even find a website filled with gorgeous blond men.

So is the average person intimidated by gorgeous men on TV? Or is the interpretation of a gorgeous man different than that of a beautiful woman? Where are all those lumpy women in awful uniforms on the cop shows? We only see the gorgeous ones on TV…

Oh I did remember another strange dream!

I was visiting my Uncle in California.. and he had a TV room downstairs. It had a regular tube TV, pre-digital, and he had a nice new 52″ plasma HDTV also. Well, I wanted to watch the HTDV of course, and when I was, he came along behind it and unplugged it and wrapped up the cord. Then my Dad reminded me that my Uncle didn’t want anyone to watch the HDTV because it used too much power. So that was okay.. I asked him if he had the regular TV hooked up to satellite, and he said yes, just a different satellite company.

Then I went into the kitchen and was playing with a PDA I had. And strangely various appliances started to turn on, it seemed just to annoy me and get me in trouble. The coffee machine would turn on and start to rattle, and when I tried to fix it I just made it worse. My Uncle would come up and wonder what I was doing, and get angry at me. Then some other little part of an appliance would come on, like a air conditioning compressor, and rattle, and my Uncle would come up again… happened about four or five times until I gave up and went into a sun room with my Mom.

It was odd! I do have an Uncle in California!

After much debate (pun intended) I’ve decided to switch my blogs from the Disqus commenting system to Intense Debate.

There are a number of things I like better about Intense Debate, vs Disqus. Intense Debate has a nicer dashboard. And they can import comments from my blogs into their database so they are all in one place.

Intense Debate still doesn’t email my replies to comments to non-registered users, which is a bummer. I would prefer to have an email sent out to all my commenters, informing them of a reply. So… though it’s by no means required, if you want to get in on this commenting community, I recommend you claim your comments and sign up. There are lots of blogs starting to be part of Intense Debate.

Unfortunately, I haven’t figured out how to get the comments that were in Disqus to import back into Wordpress itself, or into Intense Debate, and I apologize if your recent comment is no longer showing up. But please feel free to comment now, as I do think I’m staying with this comment platform!

Now to find me some weight loss pills to drop these ten freakin’ pounds I have gained back… ugh! I am working hard on getting rid of them, I’m tired of them!

Lately I’ve been having some anxiety about posting my dreams in this blog… I get that way, not sure why, I think it’s part of my inability to be fully responsible and I have to put things off to feel… right, somehow.

So I haven’t posted a number of dreams I’ve had and, of course, have now forgotten them. But the one I just posted about last night was fun, and I do just need to do it more to get over this silly anxiety.

Maybe I’m just getting old, and lazy. I’ll be 41 with month. I need the best anti wrinkle cream I can find, pretty soon! But for now, my skin is doing okay. Hrmph.
