Switching from Disqus to Intense Debate

After much debate (pun intended) I’ve decided to switch my blogs from the Disqus commenting system to Intense Debate.
There are a number of things I like better about Intense Debate, vs Disqus. Intense Debate has a nicer dashboard. And they can import comments from my blogs into their database so they are all in one place.
Intense Debate still doesn’t email my replies to comments to non-registered users, which is a bummer. I would prefer to have an email sent out to all my commenters, informing them of a reply. So… though it’s by no means required, if you want to get in on this commenting community, I recommend you claim your comments and sign up. There are lots of blogs starting to be part of Intense Debate.
Unfortunately, I haven’t figured out how to get the comments that were in Disqus to import back into Wordpress itself, or into Intense Debate, and I apologize if your recent comment is no longer showing up. But please feel free to comment now, as I do think I’m staying with this comment platform!
Now to find me some weight loss pills to drop these ten freakin’ pounds I have gained back… ugh! I am working hard on getting rid of them, I’m tired of them!

I do not think weight loss pills are right for you, side effects main reason to avoid pills, just try something natural.
Hi Daniel, I have considered Hoodia!
Well it this one work, then sign me up !
Thanks for the blog love Cynthia! This is awesome! We're bulding some new admin features that would give you the option of requiring all commenters to provide their email address. The idea behind this is to give you the ability to get in contact with your commenters even if they're not registered with IntenseDebate. Perhaps we could send them some email notifications. But again, this is just another one of the reasons to join IntenseDebate!
lol Chris.. did you get an account with Intense Debate? If so, you'll need to grab the plugin yourself. It's different for every blog. On your ID dashboard go to Tools and reinstall plugin. It creates the plugin for you and then you can upload it. If FTP isn't working let me know…
thanks Michael! Good news. I just like to reply directly to my commenters so they know I appreciate their comment. I don't have to see their email address personally, if ID sent the email out, that would be fine with me!
I don't know anything about those sites. But I voted in your poll
I love working in the garden!!
(BTW, thanks for the drop!)
lol thanks Frigga!
Cool. That would be awesome, but again, unless they provide us with their email address we aren't able to send them an email. But the admin option of requiring all commenters to include their email address would solve this. Thanks again!
If you know how to code or hack, you can just enable Disqus and Intense Debate together. Im sure you'll get more by having both, since there are loyal-to-one-service commenters out there. If they don't see their favorite service, they won't comment anymore. As for me, I try all things that I can get my hands on. Part of my job, so even though I chose Disqus, I also have Intense Debate
In fact, I'm going to enable both services on all my blogs and all the blogs I'm handling :p Still planning how I'm going to do it. My target launch is no later than July 1st.
