Okay so now I’m trying out BlogDesk. Why does it fascinate me to be able to blog from my desktop, instead of from the blog itself? I don’t know.. but it’s pretty slick. And BlogDesk is free, unlike BlogJet, that has a cost, though I didn’t look close enough as to how much it is.
I like BlogDesk… it sorts my categories nicely. I can insert links easily, and it does upload pictures… but I use Flickr and it doesn’t seem to have Flickr support, so I’d have to go in and edit my posts manually, or post from the blog itself, to get Flickr pictures posted.
Not sure if I’ll keep trying Desktop Blogging Software… I guess the Tag API from Wordpress doesn’t work with these programs, and so I have to go into my posts to Tag them after I post. Which, also, seems redundant.
Hrm.
On this day..

Okay.. I get it. Thanks Support. However, I forget what my tags are, like my categories, and I’d love it if BlogDesk would show me tags for selection, like it does categories.

Yeah, it does have some issues with tags. Although if you use Simple Tags it has a pretty awesome set of features. Like doing related posts both on pages and in feeds, suggesting related keywords, blah, blah blah… It really does the work of about five plugins and does work with blogdesk pretty well… So even if you move away from using a desktop solution for blogging I highly recommend the plug-in.

Hey Chris… yeah I have been using the simple tags plugin and I like it a lot. The related posts, and the tag display when writing posts, are two of my favorites. And being able to remove tags and rename tags… when I upgraded WP I had to do a lot of tag cleanup and it helped a lot.
