Doctors are Worthless

Okay not all the time… if you have a bacterial or virus infection, or a broken leg, or maybe cancer, they do a pretty good job.

If you have hives on your thighs and hips and stomach, and arms, but no where else… and bruising on your thighs, they have no idea. If it were bug bites, it should be equally distributed all over my body. But nope.. I never get them on my calves, chest or back. Or face. He gave me some cream.. to mask the symptoms, really, as he shrugged his shoulders and said he didn’t know. Looking up Leukemia… you have to have a high white cell count.. I think. And my blood work from December was all normal.

And my breathing is awful, still. Saturday at agility I could hardly get a breath, and I coughed almost constantly when I was exerting myself. The doc said maybe it’s exercise induced asthma. He tested my breathing and it was fine, of course. My nose is also stuffy much of the time and I have sinus pressure. They gave me allergy meds before, which didn’t help.

Makes me so mad. I’m either going to break down and see the Naturopath, or I’d really like to find a good Homeopath here in Utah. I’m going to have a look around and see what I can find. I hate taking pills or using creams that just mask the symptoms. And I don’t like the chemicals and junk in or on my body… not unless it’s absolutely necessary. Ugh.

I’ll bet you have a form of stress induced excema.

As far as your breathing goes, try some eucolyptus oil (ok I spelled that poorly)

Fuzzy Logic’s last blog post..Seriously, we fit.

You don’t need to worry about all that. Sometimes it does happen you know.

Maybe you have eaten something new that didn’t suit you. You can use some steroid creams if the problem is severe. For example Elocom. Dermovate isn’t bad, but its a bit too strong.Sometimes it causes detoriation of the skin area its used on frequently. So, don’t use it too often.
Eat vegetarian food for a little time until you feel better. Absolutely NO chicken, nuts, and chocolate. Drink plenty of water. You will soon get better.

I work with doctors and surgeons everyday. We’re always having fun, joking around at the appropriate time and I get to see and hear what is really going on in their mind when up against a difficult case. I’m lucky that, for the most part, they don’t act like gods at all and I’ve come to the realization that what they practice is just science, an educated guess. They show me the human side of surgery. They honestly do care about their patients.

If your doctor, after a while, doesn’t fess up and say that they have come to a dead end then go after a second opinion. Also, if they flip at the idea of you getting this, then really don’t worry about it!

Hi Chris thanks for your comment. I get frustrated, too, when doctors just don’t know what is going on, even though I understand some things are hard to figure out. I’d rather have a doctor tell me they don’t know, than give me something that doesn’t help. And I do tend to be intimidated by doctors, too. I don’t like to keep going back as I feel like a pest.
