BiSexuality really Is an Orientation

There’s an interesting article in the Salt Lake Tribune today, called U. psychologist says bisexuality in women should qualify as its own orientation.
In the dog world, I am often amazed that there are new and improved studies coming out all the time. One time I read a headline that said “Do dog’s really have personalities?” Um.. like, we all kinda new that already. We didn’t have to fund a million dollar study to prove it.
And so this article is about a study done at the University of Utah about BiSexuality. Since I, personally, am Bi I realize that BiSexuality is a valid and apparent sexual orientation. When I was in my early 30s I did my own personal development in the area. And realized that is the term that fit me best. I find it odd that this study says, now, that it’s valid. I never knew it wasn’t!
Anyway, not like I was every sexually promiscuous or anything about it. And I won’t go into details because it’s my private life. But I do love men, and feel more comfortable around men than women, and have married a man and I’m quite happy with that choice.
It’s just kind-of an interesting article.

Hey Leigh, cool.
Hey Leigh, cool.
Depending on who you ask in the community, you orientation may depend on your choices… some say it depends on how you identify.
For example: since you have married a man some would say that you have chosen to identify as straight.
A friend of mine identified as bisexual until she chose a woman to have a long term relationship with and then changed to lesbian.. but now is back to bi since she is playing the field once again.
Personally, I hate labels… and feel like if someone else were to call you straight because of your marriage choice, it would be disrespectful to you since you have chosen to identity as bi. Especially since the definition of marriage is changing… some bi families I know are a marriage unit of two men and one woman.. (not that legally they can all three be married.. but the man/woman couple say they are both married to the other man who they invited into their existing “legal” marriage)
My take on this is that orientation is nothing more than a label.. you love who you love.. you are attracted to the person.. not their sex. (after all… there are plenty of “parts” for sale at any sex shop)
Really, where to trannies fit in? Their sex has nothing to do with their orientation… but they aren’t understood by anyone…
Look.. I’ve run off on a tangent.
Fuzzy Logic’s last blog post..Well that was short lived

Jen, I completely agree with you. If someone told me I was straight because I’m married to a man, it would piss me off! I am what I feel I am. Labels are just words, and oh so limiting.
And yeah, the trannies… they have their own identities and it is sad that they are not understood, and are mostly ridiculed.
