We had a fake tree every year growing up - the same one that my parents bought in the 70s... For us, the dogs aren't the problem...it's the cats. Even my 18 year old cat can't resist some of the stuffed ornaments that my grandma made years ago. She'll leap up and snag them off the tree so she can play with them. The 7 year old still likes to pull the light strings off and lay on them, and the 1 year old likes to leap into the tree. It's a real circus, and the tree doesn't look nice for too long.
