The Tree, What A Sight to See

Christmas TreeHere is our Christmas Tree. It is not a fancy tree. It doesn’t have any glass ornaments or lights, because they might be dangerous to the dogs. But it’s a real live cut tree and it smells great in here! We are lucky in that our real estate is close to the trees.

Christmas TreeAnd here are some of the ornaments on the tree. I love the smooth blue collie ornament. I think I bought it on ebay a couple of years ago. I would still like more dog safe ornaments. I think my sister got us all the pretty red flowers. I love them. They really brighten up the whole tree and bring it alive. Maybe next year we will have lights again, but maybe not. Either way is fine by me.

And wow, it’s been one year since we got HD. How cool. I just read last year’s blog post from this day. I do love my HD!

On this day..

I have usually ended up with fake, too, but got myself (and Tatum) to Home Depot and bought one. She needs the socialization too so it was a double bonus.

Hi Talina, thanks. I wasn’t home hardly at all yesterday but this weekend I plan on enjoying the tree. I hope you get your tree.

Your tree is so pretty, even without lights. For us, the dogs aren’t the problem…it’s the cats. Even my 18 year old cat can’t resist some of the stuffed ornaments that my grandma made years ago. She’ll leap up and snag them off the tree so she can play with them. The 7 year old still likes to pull the light strings off and lay on them, and the 1 year old likes to leap into the tree. It’s a real circus, and the tree doesn’t look nice for too long. But they are so cute to watch their antics.

It’s beautiful. I miss the real pine tree I used to have while living on my parents house. But, when I got married and my first kid was born I found the artificial tree less dangerous. I’m afraid of all the pine needles to get into someones eyes.

We don’t use real trees - although I’m starting to like them more and more. We had a fake tree every year growing up - the same one that my parents bought in the 70s… This year we just setup a little tree since our apartment doesn’t have room for a full size tree.
