Yes, I’m a rich, spoiled American. I admit it. I’m lucky as hell, and I appreciate it every day. I live in gratitude.
When I listen to the radio, and read the news, I am lucky enough to be amazed that these things still happen in our world. These are not good things…
- In China, people check with ultrasounds to find the gender of their baby. And if it’s a girl, they might have an abortion. They want sons.
- Some places in the world a woman can’t walk outside without her head being covered. They can’t vote, they can’t work, they can’t go to school.
- There are places where Mothers and Fathers sell their daughters into prostitution to help support the family. And it’s a religious tradition.
- People die every day of starvation and diarrhea.
- People think that dogs (and all animals) are unfeeling, unthinking creatures.
- Health care is for the rich, instead of being a right of every human being.
- People pollute and stick their heads in the sand, ignoring the sorry state of the planet Earth.
What amazes you about our world today?
On this day..

- Slept Better Last Night - 2008
- I'm Running out of Memory - 2008

I am amazed and saddened by everything on your list.
We are so blessed to be spoiled Americans. I’m amazed that we all so often forget that fact.

What amazes me? I think that people aren’t as nice as they used to be, the world has gotten ‘colder’ somehow. That makes me sad.
