Day 22 - 157.2 lbs

The thing I don’t like about Zoloft is that it makes me feel fuzzy. Unfocused. It’s hard for me to get up in the mornings, and it’s hard for me to get started. Once there, though, I’m fine. Once I get to work I’m okay. Once I start working with the dogs I’m okay and having fun.

But if I sit down again for a while, the fuzziness comes back. :( Ugh. I wish it would stay away.

And to combat this fuzziness, I really need to build structure in my life. I hate structure. I am a rebel at heart. I. Am. A. Rebel! I hate following anyone else’s structure. Heck, I even hate my own. I feel a lot of anxiety when I am forced into a structure, mine or not. It’s not that I don’t like following rules, because rules aren’t so bad. But Structure, to me, is a four letter word. I won’t even define it as discipline, I don’t even want to go there. Yuck with discipline!

At the same time, I need structure to get the things done that I want or need to get done. To feel… well, complete, even. To feel a sense of accomplishment. And all of these things are important to me.

So I’m finding ways to make my own structure and be okay with it. My job, is so sweet, that I really can do that now. And I can do it with the dogs, and any other aspect of my life. It’s like I’m finally growing up, I’m finally an adult. LOL. I should have learned this back in my 20s. Or heck, when I was in grade school or even earlier.

Oh well. No time like the present! Fuzziness go away! Anyone else taking Zoloft feel fuzzy like this?

On this day..

Sad to say, most all of the anti-depressants, especially the ones that deal with anxiety too, tend to leave you a little dopey, at least in the beginning. In my experience, after you’ve been taking the medication for a month or two, the side effect will decrease to the point that you don’t notice it anymore. Good luck with the structure!

Hi Karen thanks for your comment. At least I’m not alone :) I hope the fuzziness does go away in a while. Sometimes I don’t mind being dopey if I can be home and be a bum all day. But work gets in the way of that. :)
